About

This Blog belongs to Shaden Abdul-Rahman, at least according to official documents. My real last name however, is Abu Al-Haijaa, who were the inhabitants of the village of Ayn Hawd. In 1948 they were expelled by Israeli forces and ended up in refugee camps in the West bank and Jordan. Some of us managed to stay in the hills above Ayn Hawd which is now called the New Ayn Hawd, an unrecognized village to which governmental services such as water and electricity are not provided.

I’m a 22 year-old female Palestinian-Jordanian. I did my B.A in MIS and I’m currently doing an M.A in Marketing.

People call me a feminist, also an idealist. What I’m looking for is not happiness but harmony, not equality with men but justice, not love but tolerance.

What you’ll read on this blog is mainly rambling; however, I hope my stumblings and incoherence will give you an insight into the life of an Arab Muslim girl and her take on political and social issues in the Middle East especially in Jordan and Palestine, in addition to a variety of topics of interest to her such as Marketing, Advertising, women issues and citizen media.

Where am I?

This is the about page at . It gives a little information about me.
